    Agree with Cadalot here. I didn't clear my paths first season and regretted it when the bindweed and couch grass came back into the beds. Best to clear the whole plot.

      I placed my paths out with mypex then covered the beds with cardboard and manure, planting through the first year.at the end of the first year the cardboard has disappeared and the beds can be dug over to incorporate the manure. large perennials that managed to struggle through the cardboard/manure mulch were treated individually with glycol gel
      don't be afraid to innovate and try new things
      remember.........only the dead fish go with the flow
