          I know its late now for most of you but should any newbies or lurkers read this thread...

          The Allotment Planner by Matthew Appleby (intro by Alys Fowler) is another nice one. It is a bit girlier and the pages/ tips cover a broader spectrum. Such as encouraging children, bees, wildlife areas etc.

            Best price seems to be the Book people. plus they have a 3 for 2 offer on gardening books.
