Startedoff my half plot last summer, and have now dug over about 2/3 of it.Hard going as the whole thing was infested with bindweed.

Right now I've got potatoes on the go, loads of overwintered broad beans, strawberries, raspberries, gooseberries, chives, thyme, tarragon, lavender, oregano, garlic, Nelly garlic and some volunteer nasturtiums.

I'm also praying to the gardening gods that a whole bunch of seeds will germinate including: turnips, beetroot, and chervil.

Back home on the windowsill (tiny tiny windowill) i've got tomatoes, climbing french beans, dwarf french beans. and hoping to germinate: sweetcorn, basil, summer squash and courgette.

Got my mangetout out this week. Also bought 36 strawberry 'Florence' plants from ebay which arrived yesterday so they need to go in.

In the greenhouse, I have some rainbow beetroot that are ready to be planted out on the allotment along with some lettuce. All beans are germinating as we speak so they'll be ready in a week or so. Got some sweetpeas to go in today too.

Went down to the plot yesterday to do some weeding as there's a lot of small annual weeds growing.

Did lots of hoeing and everything looked fab....and then the heavens opened and we had 4 hours of torrential rain an hail...washing all those seedlings back in !!!!!!

Bit of an update. Got my beans in yesterday and that's me pretty much full up......ive got a small area set aside for Sprouts and a few rows of Swede, a few rows of parsnips and carrots and that's pretty much it !!!!!

I've been tediously watering for a while....we've had no significant rainfall down here for a few weeks so watering was needed. things were ticking along and looking ok until........................it rained on Wednesday night.

I went to the lotty on Thursday and it looked like the big fella upstairs had sprinkled everything with growing dust, it all looked amaizing and seemed that everything had grown that extra few inches.

I'll take some photos tomorrow...it's been raining on and off for the past few days now so I expect it all to be a few inches higher.....including the weeds !!!!!!

How we all doing out there in allotment land ?

Radish, beetroot, lettuce and spring onions all doing well

                Parsnips and leeks looking good

Onions are growing at an unbelievable rate

                Sweetcorn looking amaizing

Courgettes are finally, after sitting there for an age, looking good and not far away from the first crop

                Mangetout are a bit slow

Runners seem very disappointing so far. They've been in for 3 weeks and are watered daily when hot and dry. They seem very pale and slow growing. Might give them a liquid feed today.

Got sprouts and swede to plant this weekend in a netted cage, and some chantennay carrots I grow at home in the greenhouse too.

On plot 2, the spuds are doing fantastic....far better than I ever thought.

I'll try to get some photos later today

                How's it going with you.

Well this is our first ever allotment. We know next to nothing about growing veg but certainly make up for it with our enthusiasm
There are 4 of us looking after our plot. Lots to do but we are slowly getting somewhere
We decided to dig over a small part to begin with and get some stuff planted so at least we had something to harvest when the time came.
Think this is over 4 weeks so far....

                            Day 1

The following weekend we were given lots of bedding plants, cabbages, tomatoes, broccoli, various lettuce and a strawberry plant by our new "neighbours"

Then over last 2 weeks leeks, radish and pak choi has gone in 😄

                                This was 10 days ago

The leeks have come on in leaps and bounds and tbh I'm really surprised at the speed of the growth of virtually everything

We are all over the moon 😄
