And another thing!!

He compressed the compost down far too much. I like my seedlings to be in really fluffy compost. I light press each module-cell but only to make sure there isn't an air-gap in it.

I was just about to say that....the firmer you press MPC, the more water it holds and then you do get losses through plants sitting there in saturated, cold compost. Ive always used the water to do the firming...it's all that's needed in peat based MPC.
