I'm growing it this year to see if it will do any good in the fight against the dreaded bindweed. I planted it as a kind of fence around the perimeter of a clearing in the bindweed and it seems to have reduced the incursion a little.
In other places, I planted single plants near fruit bushes and the results are a bit patchy; some TM plants even have bindweed growing up them.
The slugs love it though, I had to replant a couple of time until I wised up to it!
I also found the germination very slow and prolonged, the seed tray I started the seed in took over a month to finish germinations, a couple at a time every couple of days. I'll try some different sowing methods next year.
Overall, I'd say it has helped, and if your plot isn't as riddled with bindweed as mine is (not difficult!!), you might find it of benefit.
As mentioned above, it hasn't killed anything that was already growing near it.
