Interested to see what you get back on this one. I'm just starting out and considering a book maybe. Digging round on net and you tube at min but was recommended allotments for dummies. No idea if any good but like I say will follow this one to see what recommendations you get and maybe copy :-)

Just one probably The Low Maintenance vegetable Garden by Clare Mathews as it covers a lot of topics & is easy to read,but I might change my mind later in the thread

That's the book I started with too. Now I have hundreds Can't choose just one - they all have different strengths and weaknesses. Depends on how much you know to start with

I have had a number off books since taking on my allotment this year but I have found the best book for me at least is my RHS Allotment handbook.

Oh and I bought another today from a charity shop How to get rid of garden pests and diseases by Andrew Mikolajski

Will soon see if it's any good

And don't lets forget the grapevine..........

Reader's Digest "Food from Your Garden & Allotment". Out of print now but I got mine for 37 1/2p from a charity shop. (they were doing 2 books for 75p).

It's a bit bulky as it's in landscape format but as a novice allotmenteer I found it invaluable and still refer to it regularly.
