I've read a few posts suggesting seaweed makes a good mulch/soil improver. I'm thinking maybe i'll drive to the beach tomorrow and fill a couple of rubble sacks with the stuff... will any old seaweed do? And will stuff washed up from the (probably heavily polluted) Firth of Forth be safe? And will there be crabs? I hate crabs.

you can mulch with any kind of seaweed or dig it in or compost it, it's all good.don't be afraid to innovate and try new things
