.......asked the cafe at work to save me the grounds from the expresso machine or hunted down pallets and any other useful bits of wood .

taken the used wooden stirrers from work to use as plant markers, walked around shows grubbing in bins for paper cups for seedlings, looked at everything in a skip [not just whole objects or wood] for potential use as covers/containers/trays/supports....

Forgot to say then the same neighbours asked if I wanted their recycling boxes now we've gone over to bins.

I have developed a dreadful skip dipping habit. Last week I had 2 hangling baskets, a van full of wood, a pair of welly shoes IN MY SIZE!, half a roll of horticultural fleece, some concrete gravel, a camping stool, a bucket, some branches for the chicken run...think that is the lot! For now!
