  • compost tumblers???

    Hi all,
I've been trying to research compost tumbling and it seems that all they are really useful for is large quantities of grass clippings! Does anyone know if you can use them for anything else and if I can speed up the composting of bins I already have on the go? They seem such an expensive outlay but have spent £48 this year already on bagged stuff as I only started composting last year and have a pretty large plot and went a bit OTT with my tomato plants :-) Any help/advice would be most grateful...

Hi Winglis, and welcome to the Madhouse. There was a thread earlier this year about making tumblers. May be worth you having a search (I would, but I'm off to have my grub!).

My Dad has one of those large 'Compostumblers' (he would! ) Cost him a lot of money, but it is excellent, and far far quicker than a Dalek or heap.
