    If you're worried about weeds or disease in whatever mixture you're going to use, you can sterilise it first. I saw Harry Dodson of Victorian & Wartime kitchen garden fame doing this with an old tin bath on a bonfire, he reckoned he could use it over and over again.

      Or in the microwave for small amounts - google instructions for this though!

        I started my sweetcorn in used T-Bags last year, no problems. Not sure how much of a saving it would be though, I just tried it to see if it worked.
