  • Problem with potato's

Please can anyone help and give me an answer as to what the following could be.
My friend lives in the New forest (sand/clay/good soil) 2 of her potato plants looked like they had had to much water and when she dug them up found that the potato's were fine but they have on the outside what appear to be little white granules which almost look like salt. She has been able to brush it off but was wondering what it is and if it is a disease will it affect the rest of her crop and if there is anyway of treating it.
    Any info greatly received

Hi and welcome Esther. It's not a disease - it often occurs on spuds. Not really sure what it is, I always assume they are like pores on skin! Common and not harmful.
