Last weekend I put down a load of weed supressing material around my soft fruit bushes. I want to put some wood chip or bark on top of this if possible and am currently trying to source some as cheaply as possible. Anybody know where's best to get some?

Obtaining bark / wood chip
Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Thanks all, will contact the council and see what they say.

Try some of the conservation charities too. Usually they have a use for it on one or the other of their projects, but occasionally they have far too much or nowhere that currently needs it.Into each life some rain must fall........but this is getting ridiculous.

If you are getting wood chips from a tree surgeon (or anywhere really) just make sure you are (not) taking diseased wood as you could be transfering the disease to your plot/garden.Originally posted by rana View PostIf you have no luck with the council try local tree surgeons. They often have to pay to get rid of chippings so are only too happy to offload the stuff for free.Last edited by crichmond; 10-05-2009, 10:29 PM._____________
Cheers Chris
Beware Greeks bearing gifts, or have you already got a wooden horse?... hehe.
