I stuck some bocking 14 root cuttings in the ground behind my shed 3 weeks ago and I'm waiting for it to go mad... Watched pot and all that.

Bob Flowerdew's just said that borage is even more nutritious for the garden than comfrey. But that DOES seed itself everywhere.

Tell me about it, spent the last year trying to get rid of the stuff

I take root cuttings in March, when the new growth appears. I have taken them from 1 year old plants, but 2+ is better.
You can lop a bit off the root anytime, and just chuck it in the ground.

Sorry, I meant as in cutting off leaves to make comfrey tea/throw in compost
