Our site is lucky to be run by a small committee with little interference from our Council owners, however, I've come to find our 'committee' are rather focused on imposing 'rules' & writing letters to negligent plotters. This isn't necessarily a bad thing but it can make it feel it's a bit of a negative entity.
I also came to realise recently that even though we've worked our plot for several years, there are established (and new) plotters we've never met! Whilst OH was talking with the site Secretary the other day, another plotter joined that he'd never seen (let alone spoken to) before & it turns out he's worked his plot for longer that we have!
The site is fairly small - about 30 plot holders I think (some have 1/2 plots, some full plots & a few of the very longstanding have 2-3 plots), so things like a coffee shop/morning on certain days that work on bigger sites isn't likely to draw many in. We do have a Shed Shop for basics but that's only opened when someone finds a keyholder & asks to buy something (it's not opened at regular times/days).
There aren't any vacancies for me to get involved in the committee & I'm not sure I want to get that involved anyway, but I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions for simple small things I could suggest to try to bring plotters together in a positive way?
For example, we often give/receive spare seeds/plants/produce with some of our plot neighbours but I'm not sure of a practical way to try to broaden that to others on the site.
