  • Scaffolding Boards

At 7.40 this morning, I received a knock at the door. A contractor that i had contacted had brought me 16 old scaffolding boards and only wanted £30 for them which works out to less than £2 per board.

Now i can finish my raised beds, only six more to make.

As this has saved me £130 if bought new, for those looking for boards, its worth phoneing around all your local merchants. They maybe to happy to get rid of them, even free.
    good Diggin, Chuffa.

Well done, you. Also try Freecycle and Freeads (and any skips in roads near to where you live).

        You did REALLY well there!!
I phoned round for weeks with no success and ended up buying new timber at a silly price.
We really did need raised beds though as the water table is so high on our plot.

        Well done chuffa!

I got mine at £4 a go and the chap was really helpful. Even helped cut them up so they would fit in the car! And pointed out the ones that would eb too bad to use.

Think they are glad to get rid of them. Saved us a fortune - more seeds, plants yay!

How long will they take to rot through do you think?
A bad days fishing is still better than a good day at work!
There is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing.

If they're coated in wood preservative (I bought up gallons of REAL creosote before the idiots banned it) every year, you should get at least 10 years out of them.
