    Dig a big hole. Lay in the Logs, rotten wood - any sticks laying about. Cover and fill any gaps with grass cuttings and green compost materials, kitchen waste. Cover with a few inch to 6" of soil.
    Maulch over top.

    Advantage of this is that willow will rot and hold more moisture.

                    Ah yes - Leather on Willow - haven't seen her for a while.

                    Need a certain species of willow to make a cricket bat body. The handle should be made from canes.
