What causes these marks on tomatoes?

Probably erratic watering during the hot spell - skins splitting and healing. Some of my bigger tomatoes look like this too. Don't look the best but still taste OK.

My Gardeners Delight that's just inside the GH door has a fews toms on it that look like that, none of the others in the GH are effected though.

I’ve had lots more splitting than normal this year. Mainly Shirley’s but a few cherries too. I think the big changes in temp we’ve had over the last few weeks isn’t helping. It’s been down below 10 at night and up to 40s in my greenhouse.

I've had a few like that too - easy to peel off or cut in half and bake/fry

Exactly the same for me, but with Money Maker toms by GH door. They've been fine cut up to make tomato sauce.

Hooray for the exact question you had being posted and answered. My Plum Roma got BER, but Marmande escaped with just the scars. I had fingers crossed they were edible.
