Welcome to the vine Bobby,a lot of us sow the odd 1 or 2 of some things to early, just the odd times you get away with it,but you need to nurture them a bit,a few peeps have grow lights, although the weather has been a bit milder,it's the daylight lengths that count, thats why the plants go leggy, happy growing

Don't worry if stuff doesn't work out every time, we are tinkering with nature after all! Ask questions and have fun

Hi Bobby and welcome to the Grapevine.
Its all a learning curve - this gardening lark. Sometimes the only way to find out you've sown too early is to try it and see. I'm very impatient at this time of year and just want to sow something, anything. May work, may not, but if it doesn't sow, sow, sow again - and don't get upset if it fails!

It's very exciting when anybody takes the plunge into the amazing world of GYO and although I have been growing for a while now I still start some things off to early.

My peppers are about 3in tall and I have some carrots in a bucket in the green house. Oh I started some toms yesterday.

Pull a chair up and have a good mooch through the Vine as there is lots of help and advice.
I'll have a look through the forums over a bacon sandwich I think, my peppers are not doing too well I think they are 'leggy' but we shall see what happens with them I may have put things in too early to be honest but worth a shot!

    started a topic Hello All!!

    Hello All!!

    Hi,

So I finally decided to plant things!

I have been meaning to do this for a few years now and actually got on with it this year, I may have gone a little ambitious as within a month I have planted 3 types of pepper, carrots, parsnips, spuds, garlic and some strawberry's (all of which are in containers due to space). The good news is everything except the dastardly parsnips have sprouted so far!

I may refrain from planting anything else at the minute, although I do like cherry tomatoes.....

    Anyway hi again!

    Bobby
