One bit of old folklore wisdom says to plant tomatoes when the soil is warm enough to sit on with bare buttocks. In surburban areas, use the back of your wrist. Jackie French

I'm viewing an allotment plot tomorrow after being on the waiting list for 2 years so am really excited. I did have an allotment before many years ago so I am a bit out of practice so I will be seeking a lot of advice on how to prepare the plot for spring planting and how to grow stuff!

Congrats Becky and welcome, I have just got my plot a month ago which was very over grown and then yesterday an elderly gent was giving his plot up because of ill health and I swapped to his, so I'm back at the starting point, just not as bad as he has raised beds in situ, albeit over grown.
