  • hello from a total novice!

hello everyone, so happy to have found this forum - stumbled across it by accident!

i am kate, and am in cheshire. i have just opened my eyes to growing my own, and becoming more self sufficient and eco friendly. i am just at the stage of starting my 1st ever organic container herb and veggie garden, as well as making all my own natural cleaning/household products, and beauty products so i have a heck of alot to learn, and to do.

looking forward to finding my way around the forums, leaning, and in time hopefully helping others learn.

have a fabulous day everyone, and heres to all our gardens growing xx

    Hello there Puppy mafia, welcome

You will soon be addicted to the forum...
When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it.
If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.

hello everyone, thank you for the warm welcome. been having a good nosy round at old threads, especially the ones aimed at the new and novice gardeners! this forum is amazing, and everyone is so nice and helpful

making jam, and chutney and wine will be something i hope to move on to doing.......basically my long term aim is to cut out the supermarkets full stop, only buy local and responsibly, from small family firms. i am voting with my purse, and doing my bit to spread the word about the power we have as consumers and how we have to make ethical choices about our lifestyles if we are to survive as a race (i promise i wont go on and on about this......thats my facebook hobby, not my reason for joining your community, lol)

enjoy the rest of your evenings, and hopefully i will have my container garden and poly tunnel up by the weekend so can snap some pictures for my profile albums xx

Hello Kate, welcome the the forum.

That's a very ambitious plan you've set out for yourself, it wont be easy but best of luck with it.

oh yes, i know its ambitious, and it wont happen overnight; and theres no way i will ever be totally free of supermarkets/big profit making companies. am just enjoying planning my garden right now, and learning so much, and looking how i can make the changes.

thank you again for the warm welcomes xx
