welcome to the vine. Even if the plot is hardwork to get going, you cant knock it being 2 mins from your house

Welcome to the vine Zero Mac - it sounds just right even if it is weedy. You may find some nice surprises there as well - rhubarb or fruit bushes! No pain, no gain as they say! All the more rewarding in the end.
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

I have a horrible feeling that i know the half they are offering. It's covered with weeds, bits of old shed and god knows else under the mounds. But i could be wrong.
Take heart ours was like that we've had it a year now and it looks totally different. I have piccies on my profile but now need to post some more cos we've done some more work there.

How about negotiating the first year for free if it is that site???...it's a reasonable request!

              2 mins from home?- perfect!

I can just see you now nipping home to get a Magnum from your freezer on a hot summers day and wandering back to the lottie to admire your efforts...or even a mug of tea.
Perhaps a BBQ with freshly picked sweetcorn out of hearing of neighbours kids on a sunny day....bliss

                  Afternoon all,

My OH has just visited the half plot that the council were offering. Good news it's not the one with all the rubbish!

An elderly couple have had it for years and have decided a whole plot was too big for them, which is why the half was released. It's currently covered in blackberries raspberries & strawberries.

I have got to have a chat to them to see if they want to keep any of them, but at least it isn't covered in weeds and rubbish!
