Like Tony I have looking at the forum for quite a while now and decided it was time to join. I have also been growing veg for the past 3 years, mainly in raised beds and containers. I started off with potatoes, then tomatoes and cucumbers. Last year I moved up to peppers and french beans and this year I'm going to have a go at aubergines. Figure they have a fifty fifty chance! It's all trial and error with me. Hoping to get a greenhouse in March, then the serious growing can really start!!

I have - I love it. I sow in March, thin out if they are crowded and eat them small. Beautiful flavour.

Thankyou. Everyones been so welcoming. First time I've ever been on a forum let alone this one, I was a bit nervous when I first decided to take the plunge but I'm beginning to feel right at home. What sort of things do you grow?

No, they are a brassica where the stem swells rather than a root veg.

Oh thanks for that. I've just got one deep raised bed and one shallow and wasn't sure if they were deep rooted or not. Decision made! Have you tried any other unusal veg>

Not really, this will be my third year of growing my own veg and last year doesn't count as nothing grew Yet to have success with kohl rabi but love the taste of it when I buy it at the local farmer's market
