Hi everyone, posted a few things but wanted to say hi and hoping to become more active on here over the coming weeks. I am a home gardener with 5 raised beds and a greenhouse that is hoping to grow Pino Noir grapes and produce a few bottles of wine, as well as growing plenty veg like sweetcorn, peas, beans, tomatoes and chilli’s. Hoping to learn more and share stories and pictures as I go along the way.

Hi DGV
Welcome & thanks for the pics - lovely to have a nosey around your garden. It all looks lovely & doing well. I'm sure I'd enjoy a little sit in your greenhouse on that comfy chair & a nice cuppa - I'd do a bit of work first to earn my keep of course
Location: SE Wales about 1250ft up

My mum grew a table grape vine in a pot. The roots bust through a stone paver beneath the pot and grew so much they cracked the pot, which fell apart. It's not easy to contain a vine for any length of time.Originally posted by DGV View PostHi Snoop Puss the vines are in large pots, attached a few pics. There are quite a few people who grow grape vines here. I'm sure there will be a lot of interest in your next video. Good luck.

I have potted the sprouts into 3 pot sizes before I placed in the raised bed, so hoping this gives them a head start and all had really good roots and hoping the cage/netting keeps the cabbage white at bay.Originally posted by Andraste View PostI enjoyed your YouTube too - thanks for the link
Very good use of getting the most from your space
Your sprouts look smashing! I really must give mine bigger pots next year to try to match those

Welcome Dave, nice greenhouse set-up you've got there. I have a 10x10 polytunnel - I think the only thing I'm growing that I couldn't see in yours are melons. Too late for this year now, but looks like you've got plenty of space so could probably grow a few - nothing like opening the poly door and being hit by that smell that tells you a melon is ripe!
One other thing, your watering system. I've got 2 solar powered systems with drippers that I bought from a company called Irrigatia. They deliver barely enough water to keep plants in the poly going when I'm away so my pal on the neighbouring plot still has to go in and water now and again. My water pipes are only 50mm but the water pipes on your set up look a lot thicker, so was just wondering if you bought your kit from somewhere or if it is something you've rigged up yourself. Are y'oroight booy?

That a good one for next year as sounds a challenge to grow melons but I will give it a go in 2026. The irrigation kit is AnseTo Solar Irrigation System 10W the fittings are 13mm ID/ 4mm ID (the green ones in the picture), the system has a timer so can be set to water hourly/daily for 1min upwards whatever you require and it waters everything I have in the greenhouse.Originally posted by Vince G View PostWelcome Dave, nice greenhouse set-up you've got there. By the way I meant 5mm pipes, not 50mm haha, that would be twice the width of a normal garden hose, that would deliver enough water for sure! Are y'oroight booy?
