Did you get time to go and see the nearby Weald and Downland museum, it's one of my favourites? Love it in the winter when they have fires burning in the houses - the charcoal collecters hut though was a sobering reminder of what it must have been like for them in winter, cold and very damp.

yes we took our daughter to the winter/christmas opening. It was great. Medevial music and food tasting.
