  • Growing and cooking books!

Mods, please do move this if I have left it in the wrong place!

Having a little bit of time off work, I took myself off to the library to have a browse through the books. What bliss!

    I picked up these two:

    A Taste of the Unexpected

How to Grow Your Own Food

Got me thinking about the most useful veg and recipe books I have and off the top of my head:

    River Cottage Handbook Veg Patch

Carol Klein's Grow Your Own Veg

What are your must have books, both for growing and cooking ?

    For cooking:
    River Cottage Everyday
Its used or referred to pretty much everyday since I have had it (got it last christmas).

I have all manner of gardening books, but cant say I make that much use of them once I have read them - I guess the expert books are the ones I use the most, or 'Gardening Month by Month' although usually if I have a problem or query I ask on the vine

I have been reading A Taste of the Unexpected this afternoon. What a lovely book and full of such wonderful things to grow. It's probably just as well I don't have an allotment or else I would be dedicating my every waking hour to it!

I've just finished this book, it ought to have a warning on it - Beware will make you want to get too many new plants!

I know. If I had more space (all containers at the moment) I would be in real trouble. I like the look of medlars, pecans, oca and mulberries amongst others
