  • Has anyone got Wii Fit?

If so, is it any good, how often do you use it etc?

I am thinking of asking for one for Christmas as I really need to do more exercise. We have an elliptical trainer but my legs just don't like the cycling action so I wondered if any of you use the Wii fit on a daily basis.

    Cheers helpful peeps.

I have it and it's brilliant - having said that, I don't use it enough and am hugely overweight
There are loads of fun things to do, the obstacle course is great fun and you can "play" hula-hoops, slalom skiing... oh, the list is endless
Also, you can practice yoga with a "trainer" and design your own fitness programme, you can even weigh your dogs with it.
I really love it, can you tell

We have it, but don't use it regularly. It's pretty good for aerobic stuff and step exercises etc, balancing and yoga, but we have three kids so it gets used for playing games mostly

Thanks gals. We have a Wii but the boys prefer XBox games so the console is sort of redundant - hence my thinking it could be put to good use.

Wii have it - but it hasn't been used probably since Bean was born. It is very good - you can get properly out of breath on some of the aerobics games, and the Yoga/balance is pretty good - though if you're lofty like me you can cheat on the ones where you hold your hands up high above your head (hands touching the ceiling - so to the Wii you appear rock solid).

Give it a go - what do you have to lose?

We gave our wii away for the same reasons as above (not getting used enough). More of a party thing rather than casual gaming activity for us (well, me - mrs would just stuff her nose in a book if I start to play anything ).

I've got a Wii Fit too and like everyone, don't use it enough! One thing it's good for (which I MUST resurrect!) is doing the step exercise or jogging on the spot when you're watching telly. Well, it's better than just slobbing on the couch isn't it? And it's nice low-impact, slow-burning exercise - much better for you than busting a gut I reckon.

So tonight I am going to dig the Wii Fit out and do the "free step" stuff when watching Eastenders. Honest, guv, I will!
