  • chora

Hi there, just joined up. I am searching for a bean that grows in India, it is called Chora and Burbutti. The nearest thing that I could find on the net is dragon bean. It is about as thick as a pencil and as long as your arm no kidding. It is so tender and sweet to eat. One of those veg that kids would really be interested in. Please help me if you can. It is nearly May and I can still taste the dish I ate in Febuary. Thanks for reading this.

i would imagine that if it grows in india it wouldn't grow over here as the climate is so different. You might be better off buying them from a specialist food shop

          Dragon Beans

Hi everyone, posted a thread but seems to have gotten composted! Am looking for Dragon Beans( chora or burbutti in Gujarati). Tasted them in India. So sweet and tender. They are as thick as your small finger and bout 20 inches long. The botanical Latin name will do if any1 has it. Cheers Dincur

I don't know if you have an Indian supermarket near you - how about these people? My colleague tells me that most of them sell dried chora beans as well as the green ones.

Dincur - I've merged your threads [the first one was moved, as was the second one - to Grapes Recomendations so that people can recommend varieties to you - as has already been done].
