Oooooh, just made my first fruit leather.
      1 handful of blueberries
      1 handful of strawberries
      a squeeze of lemon juice
poured onto a teflon sheet in the bottom of my Westfalia dehydrator and dehydrated for about 5 hours.

It's so much sweeter than I expected it to be, not too much, but no need to add extra sugar. I've cut it up to share at work as the girls are always dieting AND have very sweet teeth (tooths) so I'm sure they'll enjoy.

          ALERT: READ BEFORE BUYING
When buying train tickets a couple of years back I checked the box for a discount. A few months later I queried a regular debit from my credit card account. I eventually found out where the money was going. It was a credit card protection insurance. So be warned. These so called discounts are not always what they appear to be.

Hi I've had the cheap sort of dehydrator for two years now and it is fab, I bought mary bells complete dehydrator cookbook very cheaply from an internet dealer and I would reccomend this book to anyone with a dehydrator. I found that tomatoes with pips in had a bitter taste so now i always deseed them. Thankyou for the kiwi fruit idea they are nice, maybe I will get a kiwi plant. pineapple dries nicely but my banana always goes black and strange I would be glad of any ways to make nice banana chips as I love them.

Resurrecting an old thread here, but can anybody give me an idea about how much it costs to run one of these? I'd love to get one and try it, but not if it's going to cost a fortune.

If you're paying 12p per KWh (Kilo Watt Hour), it's roughly 3p an hour.

I have the Laser 2000 model from them and it is rated at 250W max. So that's only 3p per hour. I run mine for about 8 hours at a time.

Just bought 2 PTFE "Cookasheet" in Poundstretcher for £1.49.

They are 33x25cm and can be cut to fit the Dehydrator. Great for liquids and things that drop through the gaps.
