  • Best flower book

    For Father’s Day my dad wants a good flower book. Update as possible. For identifying flowers etc. Growing conditions and the like.

    anyone got any recommendations?

    diffocult to get out due to lockdown etc so not able to flick through books and see what they’re like

    I've seen ' Dream Plants for the Natural Garden by Piet Oudolf and Henk Germiston ' as highly recommended....

    but thats using more natural plants ...is that what you think he might be interested in , or the more typical garden flowers ?

      anything he wrote on gardening is worth reading


      and/or


      Oxford Book of Garden Flowers by Edward Bertram Anderson


      painted illustrations which somehow make identification easier than photos



      These books are readily available second hand from internet sites like "world of books" which will mean your Dad gets more for your money :-)
