  • New Alan Titchmarsh book!!

I saw the new Alan Titchmarsh book - The Kitchen Gardener - but it was £20 to buy in all the local shops. I checked online and got it for £8.99 from the bookpeople. Its fab. What I particularly like is the pictures that show you stuff like how to prune your soft fruit canes and basics like pinching out tomatoes

I got a copy free with a sub to gardeners world mag, I haven't grown much this year, but it will be very useful next year when growing more things - but it's nice to see lots of pics, it made me much more enthusiastic

I have to agree that this is a great book. It reminds me very much of Carol Klein's 'How to Grow Veg' but somehow it seems to contain quite a bit more information. The photography is excellent as well - could spend all day looking at the pictures! I paid full whack, but if it is available for less than 9 quid i would reccommend it to everyone. Mind you, how many books on growing your own does a person need?
