    Hi guys, i was wondering if there was anyone on here that knew anything about petrol strimmers, having a problem starting mine at the moment.

    Have you filled it up with petrol, love? Sorry couldn't resist, naughty me!

    What about the spark plug, does it have one, need cleaning?

      What are the symtems apart from not starting ie-runs but will not rev ,spluters and stops or if it has a on of switch make sure it is on ( i have done that one )tell what the symtems and we may be able to help jacob

        I struggled to start the one I borrowed too (in fact I had to get my lottie neighbour to be all manly and do it for me ). The issue in my case was that one of the switches that was supposed to 'stick' wasn't, so it really needed either three arms or a very quick reflex! Don't know if that's any help really

          The problem is, the pull cord, when you pull it to start the engine it appears not to grip anything inside, and just slides i dont know how the mechanics work, does this to make any sense.

                I'd take it to be repaired, most agricultural wholesalers, could point you in the right direction of a local fixer, or call into a lawn mower supplier, they normally do repairs aswell.
                I'm only here cos I got on the wrong bus.

                  i have just bought a second hand petrok strimmer 25cc 2stroke any one know how much oil i should add to 5litres of petrol thnx for any help

                    i've got a 25cc 2stroke ryobi strimmer and thats 50-1.but i usualy just put about 30-1 less smoke dont have 2 clean the plug as much 2 .and in 5litres i usualy just put in 130ml

                      It might well say on the petrol cap, if not 1/40, oil/petrol is a general rule of thumb.
                      I'm only here cos I got on the wrong bus.
