Tomatoes - Pink Brandywine & Ailsa Craig have both been rubbish for me, 2 years in a row. Never growing them again!

Where are you living/gardening, Borage? My beetroot (also Boltardy were really good - started them in cell trays and planted out onto the lottie, best results ever)

rustylady, before you give up on sweetcorn, this year has been a dreadful year for them.

We grow Swift and Minipop, neither of which has been as good as previous years!!

With regard to germination, one tip we had a few years ago was not to push the seed into the compost, but sow on top and lightly cover with sifted compost. Since we've been using this method we have had a far better germination rate.

Next year has just got to be better!!
