            Sort of garden related.....

The East Surrey Woodturners have a display and demonstration planned for next Saturday, 15th March, at Coolings Nursery, Knockholt, nr Orpington in Kent. So for anyone in that area a little something extra to look at while you get your bits and bobs for the garden.
The weeks and the years are fine. It's the days I can't cope with!

                    cofton park-plant sale

B'ham Council are holding a plant sale at cofton park nursery, lickey road, rednal this weekend that continues till bank hol monday.

I went yesterday and bought a 2 carrier bags full of assorted tulip bulbs and hyacinths(£1 each bag....you fill it as much as you want)
Also got dahlias and plants for hanging baskets.

Appeared cheaper than most garden centres, although apart from price,i was more impressed at pristine condition of plants for sale.recently went to homebase and saw bedding plants on sale full price that looked as if they'd had boxes stacked on top, they were trashed.

                          River Cottage Autumn

8pm, Channel 4 tonight. Darling Hugh is back with an update on the urban gardeners and what to cook in the garden etc. Hpefully there will be more cooking/growing and less eating (mainly eating on What To Eat Now on Mondays, although the hint is there in the title!)
