No Members of the Month (MoM) after June 2018?

Did I miss summat? I know I was offline for a good while around that time so maybe I did. Or am I wrong and it is still on the go?
Was there a reason for ditching it, surely cost wasn't the issue. Too much hassle for Mods could be another reason I spose.
Please tell me to wake up as this is only a bad dream.

We relied on members participation and we rarely if ever were given any names to put in the pot.
The prizes werre non existent and GYO gifts had dried up.

I Think a lot of Threads went into oblivion after "Melt Down"

And a lot don't make sense without them!

But it is what it is, and am sure we can rebuild from here on end as we are doing!

A shed of the year would be well best reposting, am sure a lot would be well most willing to get involved, I for one would!

How about a monthly MOM without the gifts but a huge shiny star by their names? Then maybe every year all the names could be put into VC’s crop and the one pulled out win a couple of months of mag.

Nice ideas, Lumpy, but we Mod's can't add stars by your names or organise gifts. Only Admin can do that and that's why we had to pull the plug on it - because it wasn't working the way it should have done. Sorry.

We Mods can say all we like, but unless there's someone on the other side who can tweak the buttons there's no point in asking.
Believe me, we've asked and it wasn't an easy decision to stop Momming, but sometimes, when you're piggy in the middle, taking criticism for something which is out of your control, there comes a time when you stop.

Half way through a bottle of fizzy I did once win the award which made me immensely proud. At that time I was given it because I pm'd someone with advice and she mentioned it to someone who counted.

Not sure if that really merited the award but like most folks on here we all try to help those needing guidance. i.e. we are all worthy.

well having said that there has been at least one occasion when I saw someone with the award and blinked twice. Said person is no longer on the Forum but I felt he/she (I'm not saying) was a disruptive influence. That's maybe the fizzy talking.

ANyway, I don't think ordinary grapes doing the nominating was the way to go. The Mods see what is going on on a day to day basis and would have been well placed to make the decisions. In fact, the mods would qualify themselves as some have indeed done.

I was a mom once (quite amazingly) and will forever be a mom - so there !

I too have been mom and it made me very proud and feel very much part of the vine family. I think it was lovely thing to do. Made it look like the boys and girls in the BIG chairs ( above mods ) actually cared about the people using their forum. I'll be honest I never actually voted for a mom because I didn't really know how it worked and was to ashamed to ask . But then I've never pretended to be very bright!
Having said all that I'm 100% behind the mods dropping mom like a red hot brick if they're no long getting the support and help with banners, gifts and anything else admin should be providing. I can't imagine anything worse than being a mod ( aka shield for those actually in the driving seat ) and getting flack for something that is completely out of there control.
So you keep fighting your corner mods, whip those admin into shape. just know I'm behind you 100%
