Went out shopping today. Had a bit more rain in the night. And somebody has been out trying to do some repairs on the dirt tracks and made them much, much worse by scraping off all the gravel. Glad Mr Snoop was driving. I don't much like slewing about all over the place.

Anyway, a good day today. Virtually no work and a 'verm�t' (local version of Martini and much nicer in my view) before lunch in a bar that's new to us. We'll go back. They do the best patatas bravas I've ever eaten.

Anyway, perishing cold here now and trying to rain again. Might even snow after all.

Do you get both patterns on the pin?

No, each pin has a different pattern that repeats as you roll. First batch is in, but I'm not sure that my usual spiced biscuit recipe was a good idea. It's like gingerbread and was splitting apart as I was rolling - more experiments coming up me'thinks More Googling required!

Good evening, a nice but cold day today, temperature about 5c OH wanted to go to a factory shop so suggested we head to a GC for breakfast then go to the FS she knows there are two things that keep my happy, and food is one of them, while there she bought some presents for members of the family, and she actually asked me if I thought some clothing would fit, and ofcourse I said yes, guess where we are going back to tomorrow, I wonder how she will entice me now when I saw that rolling pin of Thelmas I thought that would make a nice present for OH but on thinking of it, how would I explain the markings of reindeer and christmas trees on my brow, say some time in May or June It`s an other cold night here but if tomorrow is as bright as today was I can put up with the cold, enjoy your day whatever the weather and pass on a smile

Morning all, got the decorating finished at last, time now to get back to real life . Cold one yesterday, struggled to get above 4.5 and wet too which the ground really needed. Looks brighter today though.

Morning all,was realy cold yesterday PM,was at plot,more sorting out,not much more to do now,until the shed is up,had to come home i was frozen,left son and a friend moving slabs to his plot,where i will have a small space next year.
Rary i never heard of them before,but a google found em,and it said you can put seeds in them,it gave instructions on how to use them,ordered the new shed yesterday,is comming mid Nov,they will put it up for me,for �30 that is excellent,looks misserable outside,have a good day and bgood2yrselves.

Yup I'm baaack!

A bit of a frustrating trip intermingled with some very happy moments.
The outcome is we'll have to go back yet again.
It'll be good just to have to go back when we want and not have to!
Our lives here are too busy to have to drop things at the click of other people's fingers.
Still...it's wonderful to be back home and be in my own bed again,

It's my seed swap event this afternoon so I've hit the ground running.
Lets hope the heavy frost doesn't put people off!

Although I didn't manage to post anything whilst I was away (no internet) it's funny how I was still thinking throughout the day about things I'd mention/ask on the Vine!

After all these years it's become part of my life...extended family n'all!

Mornings!
As I suspected the rolling pin biscuits didn't work with my ginger recipe, biscuits rose and lost the pattern, eating some for breakfast, so not a total loss
I found out later not to use any raising agent and either freeze or leave to dry, to set design before baking. Trying recipe #2 later...

Cold and bright here today, so I'll fit in a walk to the plot, even if I don't do much when I get there

Dull here. But a good day ahead. Been trying to keep the work down this weekend, so we're having a proper Sunday lunch. Probably the first one all year. A Floyd recipe for roast chicken in cider with baked apples on the side. And all the usual other stuff too. Looking forward to it already.

Sorry to hear about the biscuits, TS. Bet they taste good, mind. And a good excuse to make more!

Greetings all. Am hiding in bed as I am determined not to put the heating on until November.

I went off to London on Friday, ready for a trip to the matinee of Hamilton on Saturday. Had a good trip, but lots of time sitting on a coach or in a theatre over the two days (especially a I spent Thursday evening at the theatre in Sheffield, plus train time to and from) so my joints have seized up a bit. I should really be moving about to get them functioning again, but it's so cold! I might venture downstairs for some food in a bit.

Really should be doing some gardening bits and bobs, but suspect I will put that off until next weekend.
