late and so tired yesterday that I never opened the curtains to look outside and check.

An indoor day but my daughter in law is visiting with our new grandson this afternoon.

Hi all just back from the farmers market, went to get some Pork, car park was mad as there was a cattle auction on at the same time, daft. Some silly old duffer was trying to go the wrong way in the one way system, had to explain the error of his ways to him(my wife told me off for swearing at him and trying to pick a fight...��...who me?)

Tis OH's burpday and we'd intended to go out for the day but his 'yesterday's project ' of roofing a woodpile yesterday went completely wrong due to various factors beyond his control. Needless to say he wanted to get it finished before the rains start this evening.
And yes...guess who was roped in (not literally!!!!)
So..outing is postponed until tomorrow...

Good evening all and it's still raining.
Had a lovely afternoon with family.
Daughter and her two children, and daughter in law with the baby.
All gone home now so settling down to watch strictly come dancing...recorded and dinner.

Evening we had rain this morning then sunshine until 5 ish now raining again but the winds been with us all day, bit boring hearing it howling in the chimneys.

Had a hard time nodding off last night due to joint pains and then got woken up by them around half five this morning.

You have my sympathy s-c, I had the same problem with my knees, but once they were replaced it was great getting a full night's sleep, now it's my shoulders and I have had operations on them so just have to accept it now, though I will get lots of exercise shortly lifting all the drinks that VC will buy me when the GR (Gardeners Rest) reopens

Good evening, it was a right wet day here today, had to go and help a friend who has just moved house, she moved yesterday but as we were traveling we couldn't assist, but OH phoned her last night and told her we would be over and that we would bring our tools to help her with any work that was needed, I am still trying to work out how me moving boxes and putting up mirrors and photos while OH sat talking with her constituted "we would help"
Also had to go onto the roof as there was an obsolete vent pipe letting a lot of rain water in I don't know if there had been a cap on the pipe which may have been blown off, but there was too much water coming in to let it go, but the two of them did come out to watch me getting onto the roof, but then the said they were going back inside "just in case" , just in case of what? the rain would go off, the wind would die down or the ladder would slip, I just don't know what they meant but I did get the pipe sealed then the rain went off!!! I am now home with a car full of cardboard and wondering what I can do with it, possibly I could try using it as a weed suppressant in the garden. Well enjoy what's left of the weekend, I do hope the weather improves for all of you, me I am going to take it easy tomorrow, as the schools are on holiday here, so it will be a tiring week for us with the four boys, no matter remember to pass on a smile, just think someday it could be you looking for one Goodnight

Don't get me wrong...I'm very much enjoying the heat ...but this just isn't normal....

Last to bed and first up?...there's a first!
Just supping a mug of tea.Listening to a tawny owl terwitting away. No dawn chorus yet. Washing machine slogging away stuffed full of gardening clothes.
Managed to rescue OH's driving licence and debit card from his pocket first though
Watermelon for breakfast ...really, really must make an effort to cut back before going to the uk.....I can smell the bacon butties on the horizon!

Bit of frustrating news yesterday in that our 28 yr old Discovery failed it's MOT...rust.
Guessed as much TBH.
Too much to throw money at sadly so we need to sell her for parts.

The happy news is that we're replacing her with a newer one next week!

Our little stop out of a cat didn't come in last night...clearly enjoying the warmth.
Lets hope she's caught the little blighters which are eating our sunflower seeds!

And now we have a terwoo ...clearly a pair chattering away -probably discussing what they fancy for breakfast before retiring for the day

And that reminds me...I was watching a wood pigeon yesterday collecting twigs from the cherry tree -I wonder if it thinks this warm spell is an early Spring so it's making a nest?
