Apart from two or three cloudy weeks in August we've had a good summer (even if it was a bit of a late starter). Got down to 6.5 last night and it's starting to feel a bit nippy now but it's really nice and sunny out there at the moment.

I've grown the first plants since Brian died 12 years ago. They were intended to be in the garden but we are behind time on that so they are all (flowers and veggies) in containers. I have strawberries, tomatoes, cucumbers, marrows, peas, Lettuce, and flowers. They are all on the patio so it shows that you don't need a lot of space to grow things.

The day time & night time temperatures are on the decline, overnight temperatures in the greenhouse are 7degrees C with about 1 - 1.5 degrees lower outside the greenhouse, dew is on the cars, grass and about anything left out over night.

The only thing I have left in the greenhouse is the SF60 Over Wintering Spring Onion Experiment and the Catawissa Walking Onions

I still have some cucumbers to pick and a bed and a half of sweetcorn that I was assisting with the pollination last weekend so hopefully they have time to finish before the squirrels / rats eat them all or the frost gets at them. I still have two beds of potatoes to dig up.

I've disconnected the auto openers on one side in the greenhouse and clamped it shut in case of high winds, the south side are still connected.

All my plants in the greenhouse are still growing well.
Tomatoes, chillis and a cucumber plant all still producing.
I do notice the temp going down, but only slightly at the moment.

Might get some very well needed rain around 3 am according to the forecast. Earlier this morning we had a 2% chance for some rain so we didn't get any of course. It was in the 90's F again today. I have to keep watering.

It has been 1 month ago today since I last reported our drought situation. We've gone from Extreme Drought to Severe Drought but we've had a significant amount of rain the last couple of weeks so everything that lived through it has greened up and what hasn't already died should survive! It will take a lot more rain to bring us out of the drought category but that's okay because currently we're doing fine.

I've finally needed to mow the lawn twice.

I lost a couple of blueberry bushes and part of a forsythia but I don't think we lost any trees.
