I have started to keep a graphical scrapbook but wanted something a bit different so been playing with different editing software. Does anyone know of good software that gives a similar effect?

I just use paint.net (free to download) to edit my photos. There's all sorts of adjustments and effects which you can use, including pencil sketch (I haven't edited the pencil sketch one very well, but the software lets you adjust line thickness etc).
It's probably quite basic, but I find it very straightforward to use

I use Gimp (which is a free image manipulation program) with the G'Mic plug in (a free set of image manipulation routines and effects).

There's 100 of effects - this is just a handful using the default settings.

These are the links to the software, just so you don't have to explain to anyone why you've been doing a websearch for Gimps

I use The Gimp as well and have been for many years. It's about as powerful as photoshop but free to use. It has a bit of a learning curve but plenty of info on how to do things online.
LOVE growing food to eat in my little town back garden. Winter update: currently growing overwintering onions, carrots, lettuce, chard, salad leaves, kale, cabbage, radish, beetroot, garlic, broccoli raab, some herbs.
