Good morning all.
The weather is the same here, dull, grey snd windy.
Up,since silly o'clock getting G.G. off to school and wondering what I am going to do with the day.
Nothing much to do in the garden and all jam, soup, sauce and pickling done for now.
I'm sure theres plenty to do but I only want to do certin things.

Happy Thursday
Its dry, sort of sunny and I've just rung DVLA. I'm thinking of changing my car and want to keep the registration but can't do it online as I have an old Blue Reg certificate. Nobody told me they'd changed them to Red. Anyway, after much goggling and reading all the complaints about getting through to DVLA, I picked up the phone and dialled. Apart from a few "press 1, 2 or 3" messages my call was answered immediately and the gentleman couldn't have been more helpful. Sorted.
Not sure what to do next - a wander round the garden and chat to the chooks may give me some ideas.

Wet up here too, grey clouds did go a bit lighter, but they soon drew back in again, chance of Northern lights last night, but too cloudy to see.

Evening, its been sunny here so I've been out most of the day, you've got to make the most of the sunshine

Baked a cake for our school reunion on Saturday. It's not really last minute but the others decided they didn't want a fruit cake so I've made a Madeira cake. Went to the covered market in Oxford for the board etc. Escaping the awful noise from next door who are having a damp course installed. Despite having my windows and doors sealed the dust is awful.

Thought I would finish the cake this evening but it still hasn't cooled enough. So I'm sitting in the kitchen wishing it was light enough to do some weeding.

Amongst the sadness we're still able to have a bit of a giggle remembering happy times together...aswell as munching bacon butties!!!!!
We've had fishn'chips too, and then decided to have a takeaway fishn'chip Wake after the funeral!

The chippy said they often had orders for 25-35 people, so what we thought was unusual has turned out to be more popular than we'd imagined

Have been trying to find some DVDs about gardening in the autumn, so far only found one, which I have, looking for bulb planting and winter preparation, etc. I keep getting directed to Utube, where there are plenty to watch but not for copying, I thought T&M had DVDs about things I want but again it on Utube could anyone tell me where I could get what I am looking for.
Well it was an other wet day today, lifted some leeks, red and green cabbages and potatoes, along with my onions, garlic, broad beans, peppers and tomatoes I had quite a good selection ( its for the church harvest service) I have been thinking all summer of how poor my crops were yet when they are all together I am quite pleased with them, OH is out with her friends for lunch tomorrow, so I will have time to do nothing all day, so looking forward to that, I think I will manage to cope with that without a rest

Can't stop long - I'm taking the 3 pups to the groomer She wanted to have them all at once as company for each other. She clips a bit of one, then, when they've had enough she does another one and so on until they're all done. Meanwhile, they run free and play with her dogs in the garden. Sounds like a madhouse!!
