Cake caught but I've disguised it a bit with a lemon icing smothered in coconut Pies are done so I'm off outside for an hour now to catch myself in the sun (no not really) but I am going to sit in it

Just got back from trip en famille to beach. Had a swim so all salty - jumping in shower in a minute. V chuffed with new swimming wetsuit and prescription goggles

Been a real hot day today, forgot to mention that elderly Aunty passed away peacefully in her sleep early hours of Saturday morning.

Sorry to hear your sad news NS, your aunt had a great innings.

Rain finally went off so decided to go for a walk to clear my head. Had a headache since yesterday but the fresh air helped a lot.

Good evening Folks, just back from a weekend at the Lake District, along with thousands of other visitors, been to the Lakes a good number of times at different times of the year but that's the busiest I have seen it, so didn't do much but had a relaxing time, now thinking about going to Wales in October, as we have never been there before, so any suggestions of places to visit would be appreciated, it must be fairly level walking, as OH struggles to walk steep roads, looked by for somewhere we can take a stroll sit and read our books then let her buy me coffees etc. this is what we did when holidaying in Spain but last year it was too warm for her in October she had difficulty breathing in the heat, so no more Spanish holidays for us.
Tomatoes are slowly ripening, they taste ok but some are quite thick skinned donations if its the variety or due to slow ripening, also have a sweet pepper ripening, that's a first for me, chillies are doing well also and have picked them previous years. Well, for those back to work after a holiday weekend, remember its a short week and think of us folks who don't get holidays now and pass on a smile. Goodnight

When you say Wales, I assume you mean North Wales, since if you came to the South there's a risk you might bump into me!
There are plenty of National Trust houses/gardens in the North that are well worth a visit - and mostly flat - with tea rooms where Mrs rary an indulge your every whim.

Thanks for the welcome back VC, but what do you mean it was quiet without me, have you been in contact with my OH, she is always telling me I make too much noise,
I want to go to the area where we could expect the best weather, if that's where you are and we bump into one an other I will give you the honour of buying me a coffee, but you better not let the other Grapes know, they might want to do the same, and I can only drink so much coffee and the NT. properties look very good, really worth a visit so thanks for the information.
