Amazon delivery at 9:00pm no knock at the door although the lights were on and he must have been able to see us, he just stood the parcel on the step and left it there ! I chased one the other day because it was for someone down the road, the guy from there opened the parcel that was for us and brought it over the following day. These delivery people should be made accountable, apparently we are lucky as they throw the parcels over the fence on the property opposite!

Why do companies not offer you the best price when you renew something?
I have central heating cover - I know that it probably isn't worth it but over the years I've had new radiators, pumps and other things fixed and don't want to cancel it.
However, this years renewal came through with a 20% increase. Onto the phone go I:
"Can you justify the increase?";
"There are lots of reasons sir, but my responsibility is to get you the best price, not to explain why its the price it is, I can offer the service to you at the same price as last year.";
Me, being slightly dumbstruck at the rapid offer says: "Can you do anything better?"
"No sir. Its either last year's price or a 15% discount".
Now, if they'd only put the price up by 5%, I probably wouldn't have bothered to phone, as it is I've got a 17% discount from the new price.

^^Same with car insurance companies, I was told years ago by someone who worked for them never but never take the price given at renewal.

"sorry sir, your contactless payment hasn't worked. can you present your card again please. That's fine, its worked this time."
It was only 5.12 and I was assured payment would only be taken once so I left it at that.
Surprise surprise when I checked my bank account today, there are two pending payments.
Phoned the bank and was given two authorisation codes and asked to get the Co-op to say which one to cancel.
Co-op couldn't help but said Customer services would refund if I phoned them after my bank account has been debited.
Growl, I don't want that money taken from my account and then get it refunded. It may just be a fiver but its my fiver and your not entitled to it in the first place.

My bank hasn't covered itself in glory either.
After calling back to say which pending payment to cancel (the genuine one was on my till slip) Iwas told they couldn't just cancel the erroneous payment as they couldn't just take my word for it.
Koffsplutterkoffsplutter!!!!! I've been a customer of the bank for more than 25 years and they won't take my word over the heads of 5.12.
I am so not happy. Bank of Scotland btw

No knock on door, no one came up the garden path, no card through letter box grrrr... They left it on the main turn towards our side gate in full view of a main road....no attempt to open a gate even! I managed to get 8.95 delivery refund...
My boys waiting for a delivery this morning, you can track on @mazon...they were tracking, phones pinged, "your item has been delivered" they called up and the call handler said its been delivered....hmm, no it hasn't! She called the driver....oh, I don't know where that address is!??!

Supermarket online shopping.................
I had to book todays slot weeks ago (C. Eve) was already full)
Just had an order update -
the only food the old dog will eat (normally loads of the stuff) - swapped (she won't eat whats coming)
the chicken thingy for tea x2 - swapped for hunters chicken x2 (yuk)
bread (very common brand etc) - swapped (for white yuk)
shower gel - swapped (the one thats coming has got honey in it)
and the daftest of them all.....................
4 pint bottle of skimmed milk - swapped for whole milk (I don't like the taste of so will be going down the sink)
I really wish we could go and pick our own shopping....................I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work. Thomas A. Edison

It happens with chip & pin too,I went to a petrol station after 10pm last year,I was the only one in the shop it came to 30,I put my card in & pin number then the thing turned off & he said it hasn't gone through,I said it has it said approved,he looked & said it hasn't so I said can you write on a piece of paper saying customer thinks they've paid twice & sign it so he wrote something similar,he wasn't English & signed it. I paid again. The next day I phoned my bank & said I think I paid twice,they looked & I had. They gave me a number to give to the petrol station so I phoned the petrol station & said Ive spoke to my bank & I have paid twice,they looked at their till receipts or whatever they do & she found it,I went up the garage,showed the signature of the staff member,said it was strange how it turned off just after I'd paid. Then she refunded the money back onto my card,I checked my bank statement & it was refunded,so the bank can't refund it or stop it,the shop has to deal with it with the bank giving you some numbers of the transaction or whatever it is called.Originally posted by burnie View PostOne of the reasons I don't use this latest fad from the banks, no contactless for me under any circumstance. Don't internet bank either, much to their irritation and I insist on paper statements too.Location : Essex

The reason supermarket deliveries can be a bit irrational is that the website allows you to purchase x without knowing whether your local store has that in stock or on order.
Then you are reliant upon what time the delivery arrives to the store and the time of your delivery
Some supermarkets offer you an alternative, others don't.Sent from my pc cos I don't have an i-phone.
