I am familiar with the word, but don't want to spoil the fun. I sent BM something in the post last year which is viviparous
What do you get if you divide the circumference of a pumpkin by its diameter?
    Pumpkin pi.

Forgot the pic. I have stepped on one of these twice while hill walking in the North of Scotland - the first time I was bitten - sore for 4 days - 2nd time I must have stepped on its head as I just saw the flash of its tail as I moved on - when I returned it was obviously stunned - next time you are walking with your head in the clouds remember to glace at the road you are going now and then :-)

Well I'm not familiar with the word, nor am I familiar with patience.

My bad. That is all I shall say.

I'd go down the same road as Marie with my sketchy recollection of GCSE Latin, and say something to do with a live birth. Although maybe not as I have no idea how either VC or skeggijon posted that to anyone!

              Doesn't vivi just mean live?

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Sorry, but this is one I know!

Shall I spoil it all for you?
                * look away now if you don't want a very basic definition......

Some reptiles are viviparous....giving birth to live young rather than laying eggs.

I knew A level biology would come in handy one day!

Do I getting share the prize with skeggie VC?

Nice tries everyone and some of you are close to understanding the meaning of viviparous but.............

the question is..............what is it that I have seen for the first time that is viviparous

No cheating from either. I know the word but can't remember its exact meaning. OK - "vivi" to do with reptiles and "parous" - presumably from the Greek and to do with birth, so here goes: a reptile that gives birth to its young without them laying eggs or - with them laying eggs? I am going to be SO wrong!
I work very hard so please don't expect me to think as well!

                        ..... giving birth ?..... (parous)

to another living plant ..... ...........????

Yes I know, sounds preposterous ......

Just because its on the Vine doesn't mean it has to be a plant, Susie
