(iwas over 18, dad was the barman) Love em.Originally posted by littleweed View PostNow there's an authur worth queing for! If you have run out of gin and are really depressed I defy anyone reading a discworld book to say they never laughed.

I know what you mean about Terry Pratchett. I started with his books many years ago and soon caught up to the latest editions. I now spend my time waiting on the next release.Originally posted by Flummery View PostI worked in a primary school until this time last year (Yayy!) and it's the first time I'd ever seen young lads carrying big hardback books around to read at playtime and lunchtime. And this was in a working class area in a 'deprived' neighbourhood. I love anything that gets kids reading. I do read the HP books and get the jitters if Terry Pratchett doesn't manage 2 a year.
You can spot the point that I caught up because the majority of the books are hard backs, I cannot wait for the books to be published in paperback anymore. Anyway its one of lifes pleasures reading a good book.
Saying that I have never read the HP books even though we now have every copy in the house. My 10 year old son has picked up Order of the Phoenix to finish reading after seeing the film at the weekend. Also I just bought my wife the final one which arrived at 9.30 Sat morning, and I ordered it the Wed before.

Same here! All the first few are paperback, but as I've caught up with them, they're all hardback. A couple of the more recent ones are also signed.Originally posted by Spuds up View PostYou can spot the point that I caught up because the majority of the books are hard backs, I cannot wait for the books to be published in paperback anymore. Sadly, when I went to see the great man himself, all that came out was "'Ello....fanks"
