Morning all...fingers and everything crossed that Hibou strolls in later Nicos...let us know will you!

Well we had the most spectacular storm last night. Amazing fork lighting with the thunder immediately overhead. Power went off very briefly and I have never seen rain like it. Amazingly the garden and veg are all fine this morning. It hasn't really cleared the air though.

Morning my bulb planter was 50p from the local charity shop not used it as much as I thought I would but couldn't resist it for that price.
Any news of Hibou yet Nicos hope she soon comes home.

While sitting waiting for the rain to stop I am looking out the window and watching the birds sheltering under the bushes and feeding off of the dropped seeds from the feeder, I see a lot of the seeds that have dropped have sprouted as there is a fair clump of grass around the base, there is no soil or compost there, I put down a thick weed suppressant covering then a fair covering of gravel, yet these seeds have germinated quite well, do you think we might give our seeds too much attention and more than they really need.

I need a bulb planter, and would even consider paying �1 if it was the long-handled version ........... (I did see one 'offered'(!!!) at �79 on a flower web-site.................

You can get a long handled on at Dobbies for �9 at least that is what I paid - I use it for putting in potatoes :-)

Fingers, Legs and Ankles all crossed - my old cat went astray for 3 days on 2 occasions before turning up safe - probably locked in a garage or shed somewhere :-)

My daughter's cat called round to ours with my grandson and the dog and did not return home that night - appeared at the patio window next morning - neighbour across the road came over and advised - she had gone to the toilet this morning only to see a face appearing in a hole in her ceiling which was undergoing repairs - her husband opened the loft and cat raced down the stairs and out of the door which she had opened. She reckoned it had climbed in her window and gone up the loft ladder the day before. My daughter now has the only "Cat burglar and Peeping Tom" in the Town. :-)

Morning all - raining here - youngest grandson has decided he want to sow some beetroot seeds in my daughter's raised bed - I put some Bettollo F1 in a couple of weeks ago in the bed I had cleared on the allotment and they were up within the week - germination about 94% - I moved a few of the doubles to the 5 vacant spaces. :-) I have plenty of seeds left so I'll give him some of them and some of my spare coire and vermiculite and hope he has a similar result. :-)

Actually, that's a pre accident photo.....if I posted one of her as she is now it'd put you off yr tea...and breakfast

But yes, she's back...she was hiding in next doors cellar.
Even though OH had been in a couple of times and the neighbour's at least 4 times over the past couple of days to check she wasn't in there.

She's slept since we brought her in so I wonder if she didn't feel very well( maybe eaten something a bit yukky?) and she's trying to sleep it off.
Don't think it's her head/ neck giving her pain....

And yup, she's tucking into her supper and drinking water as I speak...so hopefully normality returns.

Blinkin pets...such a worry.

Thank goodness for that Nicos, so glad Hibou is back safe and sound!

Well, remind me never, and I mean NEVER to go shopping during school holidays...it was hell on earth!! Traffic was a nightmare as was the parking and don't get me started on the stores!! This should really be on the rant thread.
