Morning all - high cloud this morning after the early sunshine. Was awake ludicrously early and could not get back to sleep, so I lay in bed and read my book. I refuse to get up at 5.30 am on a Saturday! So domestic stuff today - I have to wait in for a delivery so that means I shall be forced to do housework, which is OK because I was out all day yesterday and the house is a tip! Took FiL for his birthday treat - a trip down memory lane for him (as a 17 year old he spent the school summer holidays of 1940 working on a farm in Herefordshire so we went to the village where he was based to 'retrace his steps'), lunch and then a visit with my parents for a cup of tea and a slice of Mum's cherry cake, which was nice for all of them.

Younger son is coming over this evening and we shall have a take-away and a catch-up. I also have to plant out a bucket full of aquilegia my friend gave me.

Morning all, was bright at silly o'clock , but quite dull now
The birdies round here were not playing nicely at all at 04.30 this morning. Big rows going on out there
On my second cup of tea, hubby has just made a lovely soft boiled egg for breakfast.
Went to see our Daughter and Grandchildren yesterday afternoon and picked her up at the new school. Looked a very nice place and they have chickens
Had delicious fish and chips for tea, very nice it was too. Good to see our daughter eating something, healthy or otherwise
Working later on, and it's due to rain. Best keep an eye on my washing

Morning all, sun is in and out like a peep of gas this morning and it's a little breezy. Haven't seen the weather forecast yet so not sure when/if the rain has to arrive.

Even fidgetier today than yesterday but managed to concentrate on the watering enough to get it done. Am hoping to tie up the rest of the toms this evening. Some of them are looking pretty good. Fantastic dark green. And the pepper plants are proper beauties. Shame about lots of of other things, but swings and roundabouts I guess.

Evening its been either sunny, hail-stoning or just raining here all day so lots of partially flooded roads looks like its in for the week. Anyway its doing my beans, peas and brassicas good so its not all bad.

Evening all. Well survived a kids party this afternoon Then dropped kids off at grandma and granddads for a sleep over. So I managed to slip down to the allotment and finish off the wood chip area
Have had several heavy showers today and I have managed to dodge some of them but not all of them.

Unfortunately OH was nearby in case a prompt for an emergency stop was required...yup...feeling a bit stuuupid now when I wanted him to be impressed

well today has not gone to plan... I was up early and wanted to get some gardening done (the sun finally made an appearance!), but realised I needed canes and compost first. Couldn't buy these as the shopping was due to be delivered. After waiting an hour and a half for said shopping I realised I've accidentally booked a slot for tomorrow!

By then I had no time as we had to go to a house viewing. House viewing complete, we ventured to Bee and Q, got everything in the garden ready to go - and then the heavens opened.

Never mind... I now don't need to water and have managed a slug hunt. There's always tomorrow (fingers crossed!)

Evening All!
As posted in the Happy thread, I nipped over to H0m3b@se and filled the car with free plants - so spent the afternoon giving them some tlc - and whiff of oxygen for some.
There are 20+ bush and climbing roses, 7 thymes, 6 oregano, 4 chives, 2 French parsley, a tray of runner beans and another of broad beans, leeks, onions and spring onions, Reflex kale and PSB, a cucumber, 3 chillies, a bush lilac, 5 Iberis, a couple of nemesia and angelonia.........and, I've forgotten what else.
Must have been my lucky day
Never intended to have a rose garden but you can't refuse when they're offered.
Feeling happy!

Good evening Folks, it started off nice here today sun was out and warm, but 1.30 the heavens opened and it has been heave showers on and off since, so I don't think I will need to water the garden for a day or two, and it will help swell up the tatties, I am not sure whither this was a good day or not my GD passed her driving test, then asked me to take her to look at cars, she is now the owner of a new car, and I am now the owner of an empty wallet, now looking for insurance, looks like she will pay a month what I will pay for a year, I understand why new young drivers need to pay more but I still think we are getting ripped off,(yes I know this should be a rant). I had planted peas in a large pot and put some 2ft high plastic fencing round for support, today I had to untangle some plants and wind them round tall canes, plenty of growth but no flower as yet, so that to look forward to. Well I wish you all a good night I am going out to check if any of the money I have planted in the garden has grown into a tree, I need to find out if the women in my life are right, that money grows in trees. Goodnight

Evening all
VC how do you always manage to be in the right place at the right time? Well done you. Lots of slow pottering around in the garden today as a little on the knackered side because seven had another bad night. We finally got the boat back in the water this evening so I've been fishing . We were only out for an hour but I got 5 mackerel , Bob didn't catch anything . Mackerel will be going in the smoker tomorrow.
Just finishing my pint and impatiently waiting for chickens to go to bed so I can shut them in and go to bed myself.
