    Today's Figures!

    Present Outside Temp - 4c (went down to 2c overnight)
    Present Bed Air Temp - 20c (went down to 18c overnight)
    Present Core Temp - 24c (Optimum Temp so need to keep an eye on it)

    I'll not bother you with anymore updates as I think the last 3 days are enough evidence to suggest it's worth setting a hotbed (although small) up.

      When I started reading this thread, I was going to suggest putting a load of Oss muck in the base, to start it off, but it would appear that you don't need to!

      On a freezing night, would it be worth covering the mulch?

        If it didn't have a polycarb lid then yes I would but am happy with overnight temps of 18c. I'm only using it as a heated prop at the moment then in a few months time I may top it up with compost & plant a couple of Courgette plants but with it being soley chippings, I don't know what effect it will have on the soil.
