Managed to do the baking and changed my cake plan!
As I'm supposed to be starting my diet thingymebob on Monday, I thought a double sized Victoria sponge might take some getting through for 2 peeps, espesh as it will be chocked full of cream.
So...change of plan.....banana and coconut sponge slice ( about 2cm deep) now to be exceptionally carefully sliced horizontally and filled with cream and raspberries might just do the trick as it's only 2/3 the size of a normal V sponge size.
Going to be very tasty ?....non???

You lot seem to have had worse weather than we did here in the Midlands this morning - heavy cloud, cold (2deg) and a bit windy, but not bad at all.

Long visit from daughter today - lovely and then after she had rushed around Meadowhell she did another flying visit bringing me flowers, Prosecco and my favourite hand cream. Love that girl to bits.

Evening All.
Been to see my Mum this afternoon - she's 96 today She's been decluttering - but she passes her clutter to me to dispose of. You think I'm a hoarder, you haven't seen this load of junk. A bag of shells, 4 legs off a stool, an inspection lamp made of metal with the wire taped up with insulating tape, 3 hammers and 2 saws, a metal rule (imperial only), a jar of plastic curtain hooks, a lap-table thing.......a box of mincepies and a chocolate Santa (that's better)
I honestly don't know where she keeps this stuff as she has a little one bedroomed flat - and it always looks a lot tidier than my house!

Jay, I hope Alfie starts to feel better soon when the antibiotics kick in.

VC... Funnily enough yr mom's rubbish is always worth looking through....memories ...my MIL is 91 this year...she's throwing valuable 'rubbish' out of the window and hanging onto absolute rubbish.....
Definition of 'rubbish' eh???

Thing is VC...just enjoy her presence.....anyone is welcome to my MIL!!!!

Evening all
Put the turkey run back up after Henry flattened it. Put the lid back on my big compost heap ( took it off last year to grow my pumpkin on the heap). And done some seed sowing. Tomorrow we have friends coming to pick us up at lunch time. Apparently we are going on a magical mystery tour & a picnic we are going to freeze to death

You have the tools and the legs so nothing to stop you using up some of those logs that you got from your trees, you have quite a choice, four one legged stools ( placed at various rest points about the garden) One three legged stool and a one legged table, two, two legged stools, helps keep you alert, or a four legged stool,the choice is yours

good evening Folks, it has been a vary cold day here, been out with my daughters dog several times today and as my OH was at daughters I collected some larger bits of wood for the fire, this waiting is terrible dont know what to do with my self, going to look through the rest of the Vine now so good night.

Did a few indoors chores that were on the long finger, so that's something
Must be something in the air as I also did some baking

Wispa Banana Bread
Blackcurrant Bakewell (made from homemade preserve)

Time for a well deserved glass of red...well I think I deserve it anyway
So too do the kids judging by the disappearance rate of the goodies
