Dusting/cleaning your keyboard ??

I'm ashamed to say I've never thoroughly cleaned mine before but it's so full of dust , a quick vac hasn't done the trick.
How do I go about getting to the bottom of the buttons etc without ruining it for ever!!

I know you can buy the cans here in plumbers merchants that do heating spares. Failing the canned air I don't know. I am not brave enough to try and pop the keys off so I won't suggest it. Hopefully a helpful grape will be a long soon

why not let us try a gentle blow on a compressor,for those of us that have access to one,but wear a good glove whoever holds it firm,so as not to get air into any possible cuts ext,

I unplug mine remembering it's 240 volts in there. Hit it with the air duster available cheap from the Bay. Quick spray of Mr Sheen, wipe with soft cloth and a final spray of air duster to get rid of any moisture and Bob is your auntie.

Just remember to check the air duster some 'not all' are highly flammable. I found by trying to clean a boiler burner with the pilot light still lit

I use the little brush that came with my sewing machine and it works well for me.
you could also try a feather.
Not joking, they are useful for delicate type jobs like that.

I just hoover mine every now and then it soon gets rid of the scone crumbs it doesn't do much for the tea stains though.

Unplug it as potty says, and pop off the letters. They should just lever up and press back on. Don't take off the long ones like the shift and space bar, 'cos some of them can be s*ds to get back on. And either make a note of where ALL the letters, numbers and squiggles go, or just pop off 3 or 4 at a time, replace, then do the next few.

It took me a while to realise that the mysterious magic that typed an = sign when I pressed the - key, was because I'd replaced them the wrong way round
