"Happy New Year!" That was the shout.
I didn't cheer, I was just passing out.
Far too much sherbet, or whatever you call it.
"Happy New Year!" Oh, there's no need to bawl it.

I never knew that the clock in the hall,
Could chime so loud, or even at all.
The pendulum swings with such a loud tick.
Whoops, I'm off to the bathroom I'm feeling quite sick.

Ah... That feels much better! Now for me head,
A couple of aspirin and back into bed.
Who started it spinning, the room's on the move.
I feel like a needle, stuck in the groove.

Perhaps I'll get up, maybe go for a walk.
Oh why does me mouth taste like snooker chalk.
I know, I'll make a nice pot of tea,
Hello, something's moving behind the settee.

"Excuse me Miss, sorry. Ah. Sorry young Sir,
But you shouldn't do that, at least not down there."
I don't remember those two at the party last night.
Oh, why is this kitchen light so bright.

Now, who's moved the tea bags and the kettle should be there.
Oh, I'm going outside for a bit of fresh air.
Funny, I don't remember having a pool,
I'd go for a swim but the water looks cool.

Is that a snowman there on the lawn?
It's coming towards me! It's changing its form,
It's coming to get me, the hideous beast,
Don't let it get me. Leave me in peace.

It's going to get me. Its teeth they look sharp,
It's going to kill me, here in the dark.
"Open your eyes, dear!" What? Who said that?
"Open your eyes and don't sleep on your back."

"You must have been dreaming, you started to scream,
Look at your face, your ears are all green.
I thought you were dying, you sounded in pain."
"Gee I feel awful. Oh, never again!"

"Say, you're not my Mary." … "No, my name is Gill.
You're not my Harry." … " No, my name is Bill.
Gee, what a party, didn't I sup some beer."
"Here, give me a cuddle and I'll make your new year."
