YEY ...the pomiers have been with their 2015 calendar


Sadly only two this year but still reassuring to see them

For those who are not aware, every year the French firemen and postman/lady knock at the door and present a calendar which everyone seems to buy for anything between €5-10 each!

I think the idea is with the firemen at least is for them to drive around checking out all the small rural routes- certainly round here in advance of being called out ( hopefully never!)

They are a great bunch of lads and lasses and one section involves emergency medical crew .


When you live 25/30 mins from the nearest fire station the worry of fire is always there!

The pompiers have been already ....young man from the village. Post Lady hasnt called for a couple of years but we do go away over Xmas. There isnt a village football club anymore (might be a rugby one)So think I will get way with only buying one unwanted calendar this year!

Having said that, we do get a few French requests for the Gites asking if 'week 24' etc is available!...thats about all I use them for- oh...and when a store says offers begin on St XXXX's day!
